A carrom set-up

I’ve been asked to explain how to set up the game of Carrom.
You need a red counter, the queen and she goes in the middle of the carrom board. 9 black and 9 white, well brown actually as they are wooden, arranged alternatively around the queen. then in the next circle, place a matching colour against counters. Then the 3rd and final circle fill in with remaining counters, alternately.
Below is a picture of how to set up a carrom board. Although I haven’t used a thousand words you’ll get a better idea if you look at the picture.

Here is a link to a video where a player is setting up and does so in less than 2 minutes.
I hope this helps.

United States of America carrom clubs

Below is a short list of carrom clubs with their own web page, in the USA.

I will add to it as I find more.

In the meantime if any of my readers know of others with a web page please send the details to us and we will be more than happy to add it to the list.

I am also making another list with details of other clubs in the States, with contact numbers and basic information.

You will have to contact them direct for more specific details if you want to join them.

Once more I would like to include as many carrom clubs as possible so please tell us of any you know.

Thanks.

Chicago Carrom Club.
Connecticut Carrom Club
Richmond Carrom

Curry flavour

Turmeric is a yellow coloured spice used a lot in Indian cooking. In laboratory tests a compound of the spice killed cancer cells. This report was written by researchers in Sept. 20 2004, International Journal of Cancer.

I wonder if they’ve found a way to remove turmeric stains from white blouses?

What has this to do with Carrom?

Well, most of the Carrom Champs are Indian.

OK they have one advantage. They grow up playing the game, you say.

But they also have another advantage and I am going to share the secret with you.
