A happy and healthy new year to all you Carrom fans and also to any poor souls who have not played Carrom before.

Maybe this will be your lucky year. Well it will be if you got a Carrom board this holiday. Carrom boards have sold well in the lead up to Christmas. Although not yet up to the 4 million Wiis Nintendo have sold in the past month it is encouraging that Carrom is growing in popularity.

What is a Wii?

Is it as much fun as a game of Carrom with your mates? Opinions please.

For all you lucky people who got a board, as a present, here is how to look after it.

Carrom boards are easy to maintain and if looked after properly you will have years of fun with them.

To clean the boards simply wipe with a clean, dry cloth. That’s it.

Storing the board is just as easy.

Leave it behind or under the sofa, in a cupboard or hang it on the wall. It’s a good conversation piece and is as pretty as a picture.

So to all you lucky recipients, enjoy the game, spread the word, organise a game at your kids’ school Summer Fair, have pub matches for a good cause. Let’s see if Wiis are still around in a few hundred years. Carrom has been around a long, long time. It will be around for a long time yet.
